Facebook a few days ago launched Facebook Camera for iOS. It’s a standalone photos application that let’s you shoot, filter, and share single or sets of photos and scroll through a feed of photos uploaded to Facebook by your friends. It’s only available to English-speaking countries for now. It is expected to become available as soon as Apple can populate the App Store with it, if you don’t see it already). It will roll out internationally over the next few weeks as soon as it’s being translated by Facebook.
FEATURES OF FACEBOOK CAMERA
Facebook Camera is designed for quicker publishing of multiple photos than Facebook’s multi-featured primary mobile app. It lets you rapidly pick one or more photos, apply filters, tag friends and locations, add a description, and post.
FACEBOOK CAMERA VS INSTAGRAM?
The question I kept asking when I saw it was “why this after Instagram?” My question was answered when I saw the following interview.
When asked if Facebook Camera would become a direct competitor to the photo sharing network it bought last month, a spokesman told me “As Mark (Zukerberg) asserted, we’re committed to building and growing Instagram independently, so I anticipate some healthy competition.”
FACEBOOK CAMERA FOR ANDROID, BLACKBERRY AND WINDOWS MOBILE?
As for versions for Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone, I’m told “While we don’t comment on future products we are carefully looking at what might make for a good Facebook photos experience across other platforms.”
You can download Facebook Camera from Apple Store
This is a good addition for Apple iOS users. Hope you really enjoy it. Another question now on my mind is “don’t you think this app would make us use other Facebook Apps less?”
