INVERT YOUR FIREFOX COLOURS FOR EASIER READING AT NIGHT WITH BLANK YOUR MONITOR

Blank Your Monitor is a Firefox extension which helps to change Firefox color combination such that you can invert the usage of white and black colors. On a typical web browser, your foreground has a black colour which is dsplayed over a white background.

You can easily change all these now by simply downloading this add-on. Install it and turn it on. When “BYM is ON”, you will get a white text over a black background. Just the reverse of the normal display.
If you have a CRT monitor, you will also elongate your battery life a little more.

EASY READING MECHANISM AT WORK

However, you can further customize how this plugin works to suit your needs. You can simply open up the options and customize the colors for page backgrounds, text, and links, so it looks exactly how you want it to look.

BYM toolbar icon is available in View->Toolbar->Customize menu (available since version 1.9.6)

You can also change keyboard shortcut with the BYM Options menu associated to the toolbar button. The BYM Options menu is also available under the Addons page. BYM Options is active even when BYM is OFF

EASY READING MECHANISM

ER provides a simple mechanism to isolate and highlight the text for easy reading. You can just select the text you want to read, right-click, select the “Easy Read” entry in the context menu or use the shortcut Ctrl-Alt-Z.
A new tab will be opened containing the selected text (white text over a black background is what you will have now).
Note that Easy Reading uses the color combination you have chosen for BYM.

You can use the Tools->BYM Options menu to toogle the hover effect (underline rows while your mouse move) in the Easy Read tab.
